JK/SK Reading and Writing Success!

On Thursday before Easter weekend, we wrote an Easter story about hidden Easter eggs.  I posted the story in the classroom and created a mini copy for the children to use to make their own story.  They had to fill in one word on each page to say where the coloured egg was hidden.  They were given the opportunity to come and create their own book during playtime today (Tuesday).  I was shocked to see 14 children choosing to do do this on their own.  Eleven of the fourteen finished the project (the other three did part and chose to finish it later) and went 'on tour' to read their completed stories.  They each read their story to a grade one class, then Mrs. Poisson and Mrs. Tawil.  I was so proud of all of their hard work.  The books were sent home in their mailbags today so please ask your child to read to you!!!!  Of course, everyone else is asking to make their own books now too, so keep checking your child's mailbag for their stories!!!
