Fly, Fly, Fly...
The students were obsessed with making paper airplanes. They tried and tried to make them and fold their papers. Planes of every shape, size and colour were being made. Some could fly and some could not. They had fun making them though. The next day I brought paper airplanes for them to fly. We checked them out and predicted which type of plane would fly the farthest. Everyone who wanted to make their prediction signed up on the survey, 'Which plane will fly farther?'
They decided there should be a starting line so everyone
would start at the same place.
They put a piece of tape on the floor to mark how far each plane went.
"I'm going to put my name here because this is
where my plane landed."
"Mine went so far!"
It was decided that the Dart airplane flew farther and
was the winner and the Falcon lost.
(I didn't notice my spelling mistake on 'farther' until right now...sorry!
