Friendly Fruit Salad

FRUIT SALAD!
Before making our fruit salad, we talked about how each one of us is different and our class
wouldn't be the same without them.  Just like our fruit salad wouldn't be as tasty
without some of the fruits.  One rotten fruit would ruin the salad, just as one rotten
friend would make our class more difficult.  We all decided we were as sweet as the
fruit we were about to eat!

Everybody helped wash and cut the fruit they brought in.

They all wanted to have a turn to stir the fruit salad.

Of course they all wanted to EAT IT!

Yummy!

Thank you to all of our parents who sent in fruit for
our fruit salad and to all of those who came in to help
make the fruit salad.  We definitely couldn't have
done it without your help.  All of the fruit salad was eaten
on Friday.  We had it before lunch and then again for
afternoon snack.  There was just enough to share a small serving
of our friendly fruit salad with Mrs. Kepran-Blair and  Miss
Nykolak's class as well.

Making Puppets

Mrs. Bezaire and I have been using puppets to role play
different social skills and problem solving skills for the
students.  They loved watching us and helping us
solve problems, but they wanted to use their
own puppets.  So...we got out the felt and the glue gun and
got creative!

They loved their puppets so much they started making presents for them.
She made a kite with a picture of her puppet on it.

They gave their puppets names..

They fed them...

did work with them...

had snack with them...

built houses for them...

taught them how to draw and let them make their first picture...

put on puppet shows...

and had tons of fun with them!

Their puppets even sang songs and read stories with us.
